Historical Walk

The walk starts at Pioneer Park by the George Gibson statue and Tourist Info booth and is about 90 minutes. By donation.
The route goes over to the little park by Stonehurst, the Persephone, top of wharf, down the wharf, back under it, along seawall to Winegarden Park with stops along the way then finishes up below the museum.

Sea Cavalcade Mile Run + info

Mile Run

Just before the parade, the highway is clear of cars and hundreds of spectators are ready to cheer: the perfect setting for a road mile! Join 100+ runners of all ages and abilities on a fast net downhill course. Post-run refreshments. Cash prizes to 1st male and female. Age group awards from 9 & Under to 70+. 250 painted rocks will be hidden in Gibsons Landing. The bottom of each rock will have the word of a virtue painted on it such as kindness, joy, honesty, peace, etc. In addition, some of the rocks will have the word 'winner' or 'prize' written on them which can be brought to the booth on Gower Point Road for a prize. This event is sponsored by the Baha'i Community.

The Sea Ball Race Draw

Sea Ball Race

WIN over $1500 in The Sea Ball Race! Only 1000 raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each. Draw will be held at 4:30pm in Winegarden Park. 1000 colourful plastic balls will drop at Gower Point Road and roll down the road to the finish line. The plastic balls that make it to the end will go into a box for the numbers to be drawn: first the cash, then more additional prizes. If one of your balls gets stuck in the obstacles, you can get it unstuck by blowing on it with a paper towel roll; however, you can only touch the ball ONE TIME.
